Crafters and zinesters from Seattle to San Francisco and beyond flooded Portland State University’s Smith Memorial Ballroom to table at the 8th annual Zine Symposium.
Among the dozens of cut-and-paste/cut-and-knit/copy-and-ink-obsessed folks on hand to trade wares were Seattle’s Boss Level Collective and the (rumor has it temporarily(?) defunct) Zine Archive Publishing Project; Portland’s BT Livermore and his Robopocalypse crew; the Independent Publishing Resource Center and a few of the teens who attended their recent zine-making camp; Alex Wrekk of Brainscan, Stolen Sharpie Revolution, and Small World Buttons; the musicians/screenprinters/artists of Tender Loving Empire; Sparkplug Comic Books; Erica Schreiner; plus Murfreesburo, TN’s review mag Zine World; indie publishers Microcosm; and the UK’s Marching Stars Distro; to name just a few.
